Sorry Yed I disagree, I don't think that's "simple".

Sure he may have made a mistake (who hasn't) in succession planning and recruitment maybe trying to win the GF with the old guard one last hoorah etc but I'm up for seeing what this team can do over the next two years as I think he's sorting it out

I think his recruitment this season has been spot on, it addressed many of the problems, leadership perhaps being the biggest.

i wasnt happy last season with him... and it wasn't just based on last season... i think he got lazy and the club declined and suffered as a result.

if we had got rid, i wouldn't have been upset.

HOWEVER, i think he has recruited well and he deserves a chance to put things right. I'm not going to call for his head if we dont win a cup this season.... as long as i can see progress im happy.

in my opinion, in the past he has signed very badly from the NRL.... But Gidley and Sandow are the real deal..... im not sure they couldn't have been signed without smith though, and i wonder whop calls the shots at our club signing wise.

This new contract may appear premature, as we haven't been great under him for years now... but im optimistic for this season and im happy with him extending now i think.
