i'd be surprised if Wigan said they wanted him at Wigan next season but then agreed to let him go. We have both Byrne and Hill who had signed for Wire and Hull respectively this season, but both have remained at Wigan and integral (although Hill lesser so) to the team

Prop is an attritional position, and as we've seen this year with Havard, Thompson and Walters all missing for long periods, you need depth in the squad to remain competitive. At the minute Wigan have that but losing 2 props next year, means we need to get retention / recruitment right


Its likely Eseh will be 6th choice at Wigan next year, but will still get some good game time if his attitude is right. he may even push further up the pecking order if Dupree doesnt pick up his performances (seems a bit flat / lacking in game time), so could be a regular starter in the 17 as Matty Peet likes 3 props on the bench with Mago offering impact, and the other 2 to rotate with our 2 starting props


we now have Thompson, Havard and Walters signed up on long term deals. Eseh, Mago and Dupree are off contract at the end of next season, so i can see at least 2 of those being retained to maintain continuity within the squad. I'd like to see Eseh given a long term contract as he has masses of potential and i think we all forget he's still only 21 (22 this month) and has a long future ahead of him, so would be one that got away if he does move on

Yes hope fully Jed can get a run of games in make or break for him, Big John very close, Pryce close to, we won't bring anyone in now. 

Putting together a big pack is all well and done, but there is still a lack of quality to compliment it in the backs. Just hoping we can sign a good three-quarter and maybe another half back.
I don't mind Cust, but I think he's more suited as an interchange nine, but then I'd worry about Balmforth, who I rate highly. I'm sure the powers that be are doing all they can to move us forward recruitment wise.

First job in rugby get a good pack .. Without that you win nowt ....Am sure the powers to be will know we need some backs to ...But it is a rebuild ..... We are definitely going in the right direction..... All most of us asked this year was a team that gives it's all and didn't collapse...We have that... Yes we are struggling now but that was to be expected given the injuries to key players .....

Absolutely we're a re-build, I'm looking beyond next season before we hopefully start to reap any rewards. There's a new found fight in the side which is all we could have hoped for. In Cartwright and Co we trust..
