A ten team league is crazy. Uneven fixture lists and with play offs and the Cup potentially playing some teams four or five times a season.
We have uneven fixtures now, 10 teams playing each other 3 times is fairer than now where a team could get their loop games v cas, hudds and Salford, and another could have loop fixtures v rovers, Wigan and Leigh say.
Expanding to 14 isnt the answer either, especially if you take the french teams out, there just isn't the player pool to sustain it.
The current loop fixtures are based on league placings the previous season, it's not done randomly.
But it's not fair currently is it teams don't play each other the same number of times, any team that plays Salford three times this year has an advantage over a team that plays Wigan three times this year
No one knew that would be the case when the fixture list was drawn up though?
Besides, couldn’t that still happen in a 10 team league?
