I like that post but it won?t go anywhere, why not, well because it makes sense. Pretty sure Wire,Wigan the both Hull clubs are very interested in this and if those clubs get onboard surely Saints and Leeds won?t want to miss that train. Then Catalan will be in along side Toulouse and with Hetherington going to London surely you would like to think this will happen.
Guess what?s holding it back is Beaumont and Wood stirring it in the background. Don?t get me wrong of course Beaumont wants to protect his business but the game can not stand still anymore. For the love of god there is talk of reducing the salary cap, it may aswell go semi pro if they do that. The NRL can generate income surely it?s the way to go.
one of the telling things is the board that hasnt changed apart from the death of Maurice Lindsey, and we wonder why the game hasnt progressed (if thats the right term), but it certainly has regressed in terms of TV deals
As a Wigan fan, it will be interesting to see how this pans out. There is no doubt off the field that Wigan and Wire are involved in some forms of discussions, and the game in Vegas probably just added to the conversations
as one of the other posters alludes to if Wigan, Wire, Hull, Hull KR are involved in discussions, then its likely Leeds and Saints will follow suit, and it will be interesting to see what sort of role Hetherington is playing in this with his move to London. For too long, he's had the yorkshire clubs playing to his tune to keep the game as it is, so is London are involved he's going to have to change his approach surely
